Santa's flip side: Bob and Ray, Marlowe and Calvin

This will be a skeleton eventually: it is from a pre-Xmas issue, most likely. On the flip side of the clipping is a Penthouse interview with a band or group of celebrities with names like Bob and Ray, Marlowe, Calvin, Harry. They are discussing Westchester Furioso, BAd Seed, Marshall Van Allshot, Sherman Stirdly, Clyde Summerstopper, an exploding cigar, the United States Mint, Dick Cavett, comedians, radio, sleeping a lot, Fusiliers (or Fusileers), and Bob and Ray Barracks. What is all of this? The TV's Bob abd Ray Show?

The Classics Skeleton chooses a friend

More on the classics: here the skeleton is showing his preference in friends, or mates, or Greek love that dares or dares not speak its name. The flip side of this clipping has a picture of Andy Warhol. I suspect this is from the Atlantic Monthly.

The skeleton comes from the Yellow Pages

This skeleton peeks around the corner, hiding somewhere in the Yellow Pages. Maybe the chiropractors' section.

Aat's Wanderer rules the gallery

This was scanned from a greeting card, probably bought from the Wave Gallery souvenir shop. The painting is by Aat Veldhoen, (see more of his work), marked No. 37, also resembling the strokes and colors of his later surreal painting. The gallery is (was) located at Nieuwe Liliestraat 81, 1015 SK, in Amsterdam, Tel. 020-265577

I obtained it from the Modern Language Building of the University of Michigan in 1984.

Behold rare cover art from Apter's Fantasy Literature

No relation to the skeleton gallery except for the heavy touch of the macabre, I am proud to upload the image from the only edition of T. E. Apter's Fantasy literature: An approach to reality. All editions of this book have plain covers with no art. I must have read this book in the middle 80's.

Skeleton takes a drag

This one is a rare, by now famous Irving Schild the photographer exclusive to the MAD Magazine. The clipping is from late 1980's. It is still true, smoking is for skeletons.

Bringing a message from Louis XVI to the modern medical school

This one is a collage of a clipping from a French newspaper, and Times, or Newsweek magazine. Again, these are from the late 1980's.

A good picture starts the Skeleton Gallery

I cut this picture off a cover to mediocre thriller book, which I am curious now to know what that was. It was back in 1987. I have a whole lot of pictures accumulated since then that together can portray adventures of the skeleton.

Pieces of architecture

I think these are interesting bits of architecture. The cloisters, the groin structure they all give it a soaring look.
